The proposal preserves the existing access to the site and combines the renovation of the current building with a new extension.

The intervention includes the removal of the existing skylights and the demolition of parts of the existing lateral façades in order to enhance the longitudinal section of the space and create a stronger sense of visual continuity.

The project is based on the insertion of a new lightweight internal structure that reinforces the existing one. This strategy allows the current slabs to be reused as the floor structure for the new extension, promoting an efficient and sustainable design approach. At the same time, the new structure enables the opening of the existing walls and strengthens the connection between the ground floor and the outdoor spaces, increasing the presence of natural light throughout the building.

A central atrium acts as the main spatial organizer, connecting the different programs and reinforcing the collective character of the building. The proposal relies on a lightweight and industrialized construction system, optimizing material use, reducing construction time, and bringing the exterior green space into the interior. In doing so, the project blurs the boundaries between architecture and landscape.
